I propose this topic for posting ECU ROM images.

Obviously, the more info the better.

Definitely will need to know model year and engine type that goes with the ECU.  Part #, chip numbers, board photos, VIN, manufacture date, etc.  - any of that could be useful to know as well.

I would also suggest adding an MD5 hash of the ROM file - I would guess that identical ECU's would have identical ROM dumps, unless the dump somehow gets changed via the method of getting the dump.  Having the MD5's will provide a very quick way of determining which ECU ROM's are the same.  If people post ROM images without hashes I will try to keep up with this topic and provide those.

How big are the ROM files typically?  I'm not at my computer so I don't have access to the ones I've created and I can't remember at the moment.

I would prefer any files to go here: http://www.subiesmart.com/wiki/tiki-list_file_gallery.php

There is a fairly small file size limit (2mb I believe) at the moment but I'm working with my hosting provider to get that limit increased as soon as possible.

I do agree however that an MD5 hash should be included with every file.

thanks,
Jay

I have worked with the hosting provider and the file size limit is now roughly 20mb.

Could we make one big file once we have a list of every ECU and make a .torrent? Save on bandwidth?

We can do custom hosting of just about any file.  It's just that in order to use the upload feature of the wiki the file has to be less than 20mb.  I can manually upload any file via ftp and then create a link to it.  I just don't know if I could make it appear in the wiki file gallery, I'd have to play with that.
