Sombody sent me a copy of the Select Monitor Cartridge for the 92 SVX. I have now analysed some of it and documented it on my website. I haven't documented everything I know yet and I still have a lot more work to do, in particular analysing the decode functions.

Hi Phil,

I hope you found a new job

Is the SSM documented in your website for the first model or the second one which you have a picture of it in your website?

I have just bought one (the MK2 type) from e-bay and received today. I will start to play with it in the coming weeks and hopefully I will try to eavesdrop the parameters of my car and see where we went good and wrong.

Regarding your circuit to connect the SSM with the PC,

Do you think it is possible to work with a 2 way switch instead of changing the connectors to first read the SSM and then the car?

Hi Alexander,

Nice to hear from you. I've just been offered a full time job reverse-engineering ECUs. When I submitted my application, I included some links to this forum. The company was impressed by the work I did for you, so I should thank you for asking me to look at your ECU. Grin

I don't know which type of select monitor the cartridge is from - I haven't seen it. My contact just emailed me the ROM dump. I assume he unsoldered the chip from the cartridge and read it with an EPROM programmer. It is from 1992, so I assume it is an early type.

The eavesdrop circuit should work with a 2 way switch. I will be very interested to hear your results. Please post any information you discover.

Phil.
